I don't quite know where else to put this so I'll ask here. Today my internet has been messed up. Some pages don't load at all, I get "page cannot be displayed" for sites like google. Some youtube videos will not stream, others load up just fine. Some sites, like this one, load partially. I can't see any of the sidebars, I get "connection has timed out" errors. Yet other sites load up perfectly. I have the veoh tv application and some of those videos don't stream, others stream just fine. My download speed is normal (500k/s when downloading through veoh) and I can play my games just fine so I have no clue what's up. I have a linksys WRK54G wireless router and an intel wireless n card. I have no clue where to check for the problem. Any help here would be appreciated.

Have you contacted your ISP? Before thinking your computer is the problem, make sure your internet connection isn't the issue.

Well I called them up and apparently they say that my state is having an unresolved internet outage since 9 in the evening yesterday...

I do remember being on fairly late last night and having no issues and I found the number to call for issues online so I don't quite understand but i guess I'll wait for them to say the outage is solved. I was just curious if anyone had this selective internet issue like I have.

It probably will fix itself, however, try restarting your modem/router in the meantime.

Your MTU is to high. If you run are on dsl you need it set at 1492 (def 1500). Run Cablenut to optimize your port settngs, get the aux pack with more connections. Match the one that best matches your isp. Should fix everything. Cablenut is the only omptimizer that I have found that works.

Every once in a while, it's good to call the ISP and see what's going on, isn't it?

just an update to the problem: after having sporadic loss of internet on and off for the past few days, I called them up again to find out that the problem was fixed 100%...

    ...

    ...on monday...

wtf. Now it's perfectly fine and stable like it was last week before all of this went down. So whatever it works now, I'm chalking this one up to bad isp service. And Blue, I have no clue what you are talkng about.
