I'm having this reoccurring problem with streaming videos where they will buffer part way through and then freeze with no further progress. When this happens, it can affect my other windows and tabs. If I close all the windows I can restart the video, skip to the part where it froze and then watch until it freezes again.

The problem only started after I formated/reinstalled vista. I have updated my drivers, installed newest versions of Flash and Java, ran CCleaner, and banged my head against the wall numerous times.

It seems like this is a common problem so if you can figure out how to fix it, you'll be an internet super pimp!

Service pack 1... I spent a little time performing all the updates to the OS because of the little confictor virus scare.

I assume that you get the same problems with different internet connections (e.g., wired vs wireless, different routers, different ISP) so that issues with your router/connection/ISP can be safely ruled out, correct?

bypass ur router and test. if that works, and it should, upgrade your router's firmware.
