Can someone point me in the right direction for help on wireless with my XPS M1530? It has the Dell Wireless 1505 Wireless-N Mini-card. So does that mean I have "N" wireless in my new XPS?

I currently have a Inspiron 6400 with a built in card (no clue which one) and using a NetGear WGR614 Wireless G router. Been working great.

My question is, will the NetGear router I currently have work with my new XPS with the Dell Wireless 1505 Wireless-N Mini-card, Or should I get a new router? I see Netgear has a Rangemax Dual Ban Wireless N Router.

Will that increase security and speed when on the internet wirelessly, compared to the router I have now?

    Yes it has N wireless

Yes it will work as wireless G

Only get an n router if you share files between computers on your network. N does not speed up your internet surfing or downloading.

nizzy is right, your N minicard can reach higher throughput (140-300Mbps) than the router but it will match what the router can accept G (54Mbps) and that speed is sufficient for your need.
