Ok, I can't get it to work... I need some ideas. its been 3years since I last used XP... can't wait untill I get the Windows 7 disks... anyway I know the card works with my network as my thinkpad has the same card and so does my brothers SXPS 16.

I get the "the network may not be in range...." error. Is there any easy way to get this to work?

What are you using to manage your network connection? XP's built-in network manager, Intel's, or HP's if they have one?

For anyone else that finds their way to this thread I had the same problem with the wireless randomly failing and the only solution was a reboot. I believe I have found the solution. Abandon HP's driver and go direct to Intel. I am 14 days straight without a loss, smashing the old record of 2 days.

Why HP is sticking with an old driver, who knows.
