I'm looking to upgrade my older Netgear router as I'm starting to have some issues with it. My house is wired for Cat 6. I have 4 Xbox systems, a ps3, an HTPC, and 1 computer which will be connected to a Dell Powerconnect 2808 switch.

At most only 2 of the Xbox's will be on at the same time playing games. 2 laptops could be connected browsing the web, streaming media, etc...

My house has a finished basement where the router will reside. Upstairs is where most of the xbox's are and where the laptops will be used 50% of the time.

I was looking to spend around $100 but could go more if needed. I was considering the Netgear WNDR3700. I'm willing to consider any other brands.

It's a very good router and it will definitely suit your needs but basement is a terrible place for a wireless router. You should seriously consider placing it upstairs.

I finally went to go pickup the router today (just added a couple other things for one trip), I ordered it a couple weeks back as suggested on the other thread.

Still haven't unboxed it yet and some one was saying how the router version is on the box, I can't seem to find it?

Thank you for the link downloads, my router says 100-15607-01R5 on the box.

Do you know if this the latest v2 revision or should I go back for an exchange?

    Edit:

I got the answer from NetGear's forum, mine is the latest v2 with latest revision board 5 = 01R5.

It clearly says WNDR3700v2, 16MB flash and 64MB ram on the the box where the package contents are listed.

Will be opening the router for setup later on today, thanks again.
