    Wont connect without mains supply

    Hi can anyone help please.

    A friend is having trouble with his laptop, he cant connect with the router unless his power lead is plugged in, once connected he says he can unplug it and it stays connected.

    He has vista on a brand new insprion 1525.

    Im out of the country and cant help currently and off the top of my head i cant think why this would happen, thoughi dont us vista.

    He can try going to Control Panel--> System and Maintenance--> System --> Device Manager. Under the 'Network Adapters' section he should look for the wireless card; right click it, select properties and under the Power settings he should take out the check that talks about 'allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'. See if that helps!
