When I connect to a network and I choose to automatically connect, it doesnt do so in the future. I always have to connect manually, even if I choose to do it automatically, every time.

    What should I do?

    A few questions here:

What kind of wireless card are you using?

Are you using the Windows connection manager or the card manufacturer's connection manager?

Have you tried using the other connection manager? (e.g., if you're using the Intel Pro/Wireless 4965 and connecting vie the Intel Proset manager, have you tried handing control over to Windows?)

You may want to turn on the Dell connection manager. Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with Dell's newer offerings, or with their wireless control panel, but I do know that, though they tend to be clunkier than the Windows Zero Configuration utility, a vendor's wireless management software tends to hold the connection better.

You may also want to try downloading an updated driver from Dell's support website.

The Dell Connection Manager doesnt really do anything but tell you info about the network youre connected to.

Which computer do you have, and which Dell wireless card do you have? Have you visited the Dell support site and downloaded the latest available drivers?
