Hello, I am using the Netgear WN121T wireless N adapter with a N300 router. My issue is that occasionally my internet connection will drop off and I will not be able to connect back to it without restarting my computer. I've had some temporary fixes such as flushing dns and renewing IP, but they still don't solve the internet dropping issue.

I'm running windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

    Thanks in advance.

Just to clarify, is your desktop dropping the connection to the router, or is the router dropping the connection to your ISP?

    are there updated drivers available?
    updated firmware for the router?
how far are you from the router? any walls/floors?
did you change the channel that the router operates on?

I am approx 30 yards from my router, a few walls but there are open walkways. Everyone else on my router is having no problems, and when I am connected I have excellent signal strength, we have two identical routers on both floors and the second router is bridging the router connection to strengthen it. I'll check for updated firmware, but my brother who sits 10 feet next to me is using the exact same software and adapter.

I have reinstalled drivers and I am adamant that I am on the latest firmware... And my brother is 10 feet closer.

I uninstalled the driver to reinstall the latest version (to be sure I was up to date) and now it isn't working at all. The netgear software wont work and it wont recognize my adapter. I have looked at various other forums and people say there is a windows 7 64 bit compatibility issue with it.... though I had been using it fine for 6 months.

Hardware can go bad. It is possible that the device has been degrading over time. Personally I do not trust netgear hardware, go pick up a PCI Linksys card.
