Is there any way to get my now somewhat outdated Sony Vaio PCG 717 to work with my home network? I have a Linksys wireless network.
I note two PC card slots on the computer. Can one of these slots accept a wireless device that would work??

yes, just install drivers and card (whichever order the manual says), setup the card for your router and go

If this is a desktop, you can use one of the USB ports to get wireless access. PC cards also exist for wireless networking. It is your choice. Virtually any type of computer and some PDAs (if upgradeable) can connect with a WIFI network.

Actually a Sony Vaio laptop. It has two pc card slots.
I am such a neophyte I dont know what to buy. Should I just take the computer down to best buy and get help or does anyone have specific advise about a particular brand compatible with my Linksys wirleless router.

I tend to stick with name brand matching. If you have a linksys router buy a linksys card. Less issues
