Hey guys, for those who use ROGERS in canada on their 4-5 year old routers, you'd find that they're cutting your connection quite often because of "spending too much DCHP packets per a day". I've got this problem so I bought a new D-Link router (wireless) as I'll be moving onto university and I'd like wireless power for my laptop.

So here it is, I got D-Link DIR-625 router which features N specification. Their selling point is more coverage and of course the 300 Mbps attractive speed. However, I've read the articles on the web shortly that N-speccification has not yet completely ratified and that specifications may change. Did I make a wrong choice? What happens if it's not comptabile with future hardware? Do you think D-Link or any other manufactures will release firmware updates that will patch this problem? Why did they release "draft" routers if they knew that it's going to change very soon?

g is just fine, since you already have a N router now if you find a cheap n compatible card may as well give it a shot, but you probably wont gain anything over a g network, and N does have alot of issues depending on the hardware.

Mfg sells these pre-spec 11n router to help pay for there development cost and a way to get beta testers. But there is no guarantee that it will meet the final spec sometime in 2008, (they keep pushing the date back). This way the can stick you twice..... Just look at what happened with 11g and 11b, they still have bugs. The 11g good should be sound. As for as distance and speed for 11n, distance shows not to be, speed there is improvement.
