    Wireless, but no solid connection...

    earlier in the day my asus g1s was doing fine switching from wireless to using a direct ehternet plug in. But now when i plug in it does not register the broadband and refuses to make a connection

    So you are saying your wired connection is not working.

    check to make sure it is not disabled. Rt clink on the port connection and check, enable if needed. You may try disabling and re-enable it a minute later.

    I onlky seem to get a connection if my desktop is on, otherwise if the broadband modem and router are on i do not get any service.

    Clone your Mac address of the desktop into the router WAN (ISP) setup. Should correct your problem.

    Then make sure your LAN is setup for DHCP.

    where do i set up my router? i can't find my touer, only my network connections which don't have anyhting about ym rotuer

    Check to see what your Gatway IP is then point your browser to "http://ipaddress", most are 192.168.1.1. This should get you to the admin section of the router. You will need to enter the admin password to get access to the settings. Defaults to most are admin;password or blank PW. Netgear prints it on the bottom of there routers. If you do not remember the pw you can reset the router to factory and all settings will be lost.
