    Hi all.

I have an Acer 6930 with a Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 5100 card. Now here's the problem:

I dropped the latptop from a very low height, and everything seems to be fine, except the wireless. It doesn't register as it being turned on, even when I press the button. The text "Wireless enabled" appears on the screen, but the light that indicates it's on doesn't light up.

When I use Windows to diagnose the problem, it says "Wireless is off. Find the switch according to your machine and switch it on."

So basically, it seems that something went wrong with the button, so is there any way to switch on the wireless through the laptop, not with the button?

    Thanks.

If it's easy to open up, you could check and see if the wless card may have been jiggled loose, and re-seat it.

    Cheers... :)
