tonight i (clumsily) spilt the water from my noodles on my laptop where the finger print reader and wireless switch is (i have an M1530). straight away i couldnt not find a wireless router and my 'biometric' fingerprint reader wont work (it says its unconnected).

does dell's special XPS one year accidental warranty cover these sorts of accidents? ...of stupidness?

my warranty runs out at christmas :S

    thanks

    Yes, accidental warranty covers ANYTHING.
I had a laptop peed on by a pet and they replaced it.
Just make sure you make the claim NOW, not in a week and a half!

Let it dry for a day, see what happens. A bit of fluid doesn't always have to be fatal. Can save you a trip & waiting for a replacement.

If the system is under warranty, file the claim now. I would rather replace the computer now, instead of discovering a few weeks from now that the damage turned out to be more than I expected.

100% agree with this. You paid extra for accidental coverage, might as well exercise that now while you can.

All depends on the warranty. One experience though, one fellow sent his laptop for repair, they opened the laptop and they found water stain, then they said that the warranty did not cover that. Use the search to find that particular thread.
