I saw the Dlink and Linksys that I was looking at are not recommended. They are pretty cheap on newegg. I was wondering what G routers are good for under 50, or do they exist?

I have an Xbox 360 which right now I have hardwired in, and my laptop. I would like max speed possible, WPA security and an easy interface for port forwarding.

Not sure if you want to change it, but you want to keep that 360 hardwired, BTW.

really? so netgear is good? I get confused on what is good and what is not. I guess Belkin is the one that is bad then.

And yes, I will keep the 360 hardwired. But my current Buffalo router is dying it seems like.

I can not tell anymore. my wireless was screwey for a while, and I hardwired my laptop. Then I come home today and the LAN card is not working and the wirless works..it is super confusing

Buffalo still has support for routers, 2 yr warranty. I had one replaced about 3 mo ago that was flaky. The law suite injunction just prevents them from importing and selling new one. So replacements are still available.

If your running the factory firmware, it may just need a power cycle. If your running after market firmware may want to check on a newer release.

Wouldn't the law suite be enough reason to keep away from Buffalo?
