    Wireless router making download speeds slow

    I just hooked up a linksys wireless router last night and its making my download speeds reallllllly slow thru my laptop and desktop. I tried just reconnecting from my modem back to the desktop and speeds where fine. What can i do to fix the problem

    Go to www.linksys.com, look for support/downloads, pick your router and update to the latest firmware. than report back here if you fixed it or still have issues

    Yeah routers are fairly straightforward. If you can’t get one working umm maybe call the geeksquad :rolleyes:

    A home wifi network won’t make your connection any slower than a hard-wired network. That is unless you have some Super-Omega-Ungodly-Connection. Which I doubt you have.

    Set everything to default, double check ALL your settings in the router and computer and start over.

    BTW what router do you have? That might help if you want a serious answer. Other than “My computers broken, fix it!”
