Hey hey, I'm looking for a simple router for my needs.
I have 2 laptops that will run on it, one is a gaming laptop, that will always be hooked up to the router with a cable, ocassionally I will connect via wireless. The second is my fiance's laptop that will be on wireless.
I need something simple, but fast. I pay extra for internet service and I'm on 30mb/s connection so I wouldn't want to loose the speed on my main gaming laptop.
I have Asus g71gx Newegg.com - Recertified: ASUS G71GX-RX05 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo P8700(2.53GHz) 17.1" Wide XGA+ 6GB Memory DDR2 800 500GB HDD 5400rpm Super Multi DVD RW NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M this website lists my card as N.
My fiance has HP dv3t and her's under device manager says 802.11g and this one will b on wireless all the time.

Is this router any good ? I don't need no home server/data protection/mumbo jumbo options :)

I'm really happy with the Belkin wireless devices I have owned and stick with them whenever I need something from this field :)

My router is a Belkin - simple but at the same time quite good + USB port allowing USB devices as external harddrives, printers, etc. to be available to all computers on the network.

Check out some ZyXel hardware if you don't feel confident flashing firmware to tomatoe / ddwrt on other hardware but want something more robust.

Working on a new ZyXel usg 20w for a client right now and I'm very impressed. Search for a coupon code for ZyXel online.

if you dont know what you are doing at all:
Linksys just came out with a new line E1500 - which is good because their last couple lines have been terrible.

NETGEAR WNDR3700-100NAS - i've set a few of these up and they are solid and have a great set of features.
