I just recieved an Alienware area-51 m5500. There is a button to turn the wireless lan on and off on the fly. But it does not seem to be working. Pressing the button does not seem to do anything. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Happy Holidays!

    1. check if there is a default setting the BIOS

    2. check if AW has installed some software that controls the wifi card

How can i check the BIOS?
I will check to see if there is some software key that enables the button.
    Thanks for your reply.

Push F2 when you first turn on the notebook (before it boots to your operating system).
