Hi, I have an Asus Z70va with an intel 2915abg pci card.

It works fine, except for the one annoying fact that whenever the machine comes back from standby, the wireless is set to off. I have to go and manually turn the thing back on.

Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere that tells XP to default to turning the wireless card on after standby/hibernate?

There shouldn't be a reason for this, at least not something you did. Have you tried installing the latest drivers?

Ok, this might work but it might not, its worth a try:

Double Click on the little wireless connectiod in the bottom right tray of your computer
    Hit Properties
Out of the 3 tabs hit the one that says "Wireless Networks"
Click on the network that you connect to all the time, just make sure its highlighted and DONT double click
Hit Properties underneath the networks displayed
Up where the 3 tabs are at, hit the connection tab
And make sure that box is checked

I believe this is a normal occurance?

Many people have complained about this and I don't think there is a way around it?

    It's a power saving feature I'm sure.

If there is a way around it that'd be great to know :D

    Cheers,
    Mike

just wanted to bring this post back because I would love to know if there is a way around it as well, mostly when the lappy is plugged in.
