Hey guys, I have a Compal Hel 80 from powernotebooks.com Suddenly my wireless internet doesn't work. The weird thing is that I can connect to the router, but it can't acquire a network IP address. I've tried connecting to several other routers and I can connect to their router, but acquiring an IP address is a different issue. Does anyone know a fix for this. Please help me, I've tried to do the repairs when I right click on it. Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure its not that, because it won't even connect to my Universitys network, or anyone elses.

I'm taking a guess here, but try re-installing the drivers. Uninstall, download the driver, reinstall. Make sure you have the latest drivers too :p

Are you sure DHCP is enabled on your notebook? What about firewall settings.

DHCP? I turned of my windows firewall, and my comodo firewall. When I'm plugged into the internet it works fine.

I might be misunderstanding but you don't have two firewalls running at the sametime do you? If you do disable one, and on the one your using put in your ip range as excepted/trusted. DHCP automatically gives you a ip address, this isn't your problem if you can connect now.

if you can access your Router but dont get a IP address how can you access your Router?? Did you try to plug a Cable in and see if your Router gets the right information from your ISP???

Are you sure you have Wireless enabled?? If you log on to an other Router/Wireless Network do you get an IP??

Disable the MS Firewall and Keep Comodo, its a true firewall.

If you have the WPA keys to enter and if fails, remove/delete the location form you location list and try again.
