    Wireless network cards difference?

    What is the difference between these two? They are both the same price at HPshopping but their info doesnt help in deciding:

    Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG WLAN

    54g(TM) 802.11b/g WLAN w/ 125HSM/SpeedBooster(TM)

    They're the same card essentially - feature wise that is. The 54g is just an alternative to the 2200.

    If you want bluetooth, you're going to have to go with the 2200BG, but if you don't need BT, then the 54g is the way to go. There have been many issues with the 2100/2200 series of cards - check the wireless forum.

    No, the Bluetooth and wireless cards are separate, I assume that Chaz means HP doesn't offer Bluetooth with anything other than the Intel card. I haven't verified this however.

    Yes - that is what I implied. The only way you can get the internal bluetooth is if you order the Intel PRO2200 card. They are seperate pieces of hardware ;)

    Do any of you use a bluetooth mouse? headphones or such? if so, what are they priced? I got a nice notebook mouse that is usb but if i dont have to have wires, it may change my mind :)

    Look for other Mini-PCI wireless cards, I believe there is one with bluetooth included.

    I don't recall it, try a search for bluetooth wireless card in this forum/section
