I use my laptop to play CS:S online, but recently I keep getting lag and my ping is jumpy. My character just freezes and I'm unable to move til like seconds later only to see that someone already shot me...

The wireless router is only like 3 feet away so it's not the distance. Also I tried to plug an internet cable into the laptop, but that doesn't seem to work. :( help plz

It might be the server that you are using. That's the best that I can think of anyways.

What are the specs of your computer? It might not be network-related.

    AZN do this

Double Click on My Network PLaces
Click on your network Card and click properties
    Click on Configure
    Click Advance
Click on Linkspeed/Dublex Mode in the choices.
On the Right hand side of it it will say AUTO, plz change that to 10/100 Full Duplex or Half duplex, and then click on and ur DONE :D

took me 2 weeks to find this info :(

This should fix all of ur Internet Drop Connection problems

If the problem persists plz post about it. Also you must power cycle your router every 1-2 months ( don't ask me why) but this will help keep your router working at its best.

    Good Luck

    Thanks,

    MysticGolem

The only choices I seem to have are Ad hoc channel, intel throughput enhancement, mixed mode protection, power management, preferred band, transmit power, and wireless mode.

    also to Chaz I have
    1.73 ghz
    1 gig
    128 mb 6600 gpu

OK, your laptop can definitely handle BF2. Just a question - is the hard drive being accessed during gameplay? That would probably indicate a shortage of RAM. BF2 is known to be very demanding on the memory. I noticed a difference when I upgraded from 1GB to 2GB, considerably smoother. Ping stayed the same though, as I expected.
