Hey guy's, I've created threads about this problem before in the past, but I really don't know what to do. So here is the low down:

Wireless connection drops every day or so. I've had router for about a year and a half. Used to work just fine. Then it would drop connection every week or two, but for the past few months, it's been getting worse. I have to unplug the power, then replug it to get wireless to work again.

I've already updated firmware to latest Linksys version. I have tried Tomato firmware, still not fixed. I've changed the channel to various ones, still not fixed. Could this be a hardware issue rather than a software one?

I'm am pretty certain signal is not being interfered. Cordless phone is 5.8Ghz. We don't use bluetooth in this household. Microwave is never really used.

I've called Linksys tech support twice already in the past few days. I forked over $10 to have them remotely fix the problem. All they did was reset the router, updated firmware, reset security settings and changed the channel (things i've done already). Called again today because my connection dropped again. They remotely changed the channel for my router. Gave me a new case number to use in case problem happens again, which I bet will.

Should I just give up and toss out what people say is the best wireless router? Or is there something else I can do? Is there even a chance Linksys will replace my router?

Have you cleaned it yet? Get some compressed air and blow out all of the collected dirt. If that doesn't help, the router might be failing, which means you'll have to replace it.

Well usually Factory restoring the device to default settings is the best option. Once configuring the router changing the channel is always a step that should be done. Cleaning the router as well is a very good idea as well.

On your computer you could always uninstall the networking adapter then restart the computer ( Adapter will reinstall it self ) See if that works. If its a Mac then creating a new network location and resetting the service order does the same thing. In the end I would just get a new router.
