Hi Guys,
I have a router at home, and I assigned an IP to my laptop so I can control all the transfer and such. But at school I need to have my wireless configured as "Obtain an IP (and DNS) automatically", or the server wont connect me.
Is there a way to have both networks configured at the same time, so I don't have to configure everything again when I go home?
Thanks.

What are you using to configure the card? Is it windows?

If you are using XP, yes. Set your router for DHCP on the LAN (local ports). Then on your desktop change your static IP to obtain automaticly. This can be found on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) > Properties.
If you always want it assign the same IP address every time, some routers allow you to map IP based on MAC Address. -
It is XP, thanks, I'll try that. Will I still be able to access to the network (ie. to transfer files between PCs)?

Your network setting should not change unless you were using static IP's that were not in the routers subnet. If that's the case you may need to add a firewall rule for your new subnet. Or change the DHCP range to reflect the subnet you need. I recommend that you have your house and office on different subnets.
