What is the point of wireless cards on laptops? I mean what do they do? If your laptop already have WiFi, what does the card need to do? I think this is what iam talking about http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=34&name=Laptop-Networking

Those are for computers without an internal WiFi card, or if you want to connect to a G or N network and your internal card isn't capable of that.

I guess older laptops didn't have internal wireless cards.

some people like having a "back up" network card just in case their MAC address gets banned from certain applications as well.
