My linksys gaming adapter finally kicked the bucket. I am trying to get my 360 up working while not connected to another computer through internet sharing. I have a wrt54g (version 1) router that i use for wifi.

Laying around, i have a 54g linksys access point, 11b linksys access point, and a linksys compact wireless g router. I thought before that i could get the access point to turn into bridge mode but i cant see where to get that done.

Can it be done with any of these devices?

You will have to pull up the manual on that one, or browse through the menus (or builtin help). Linksys in general like to make you buy different hardware for each function. Some do support that along with multipont bridge and client card modes. I do not know if aftermarket firmware like dd-wrt supports AP's or just routers.

One problem is that i do not have the cd's nor manuals for the access points.

That said, from what i read online, they wont work in bridge mode to a router, but they will do bridge mode if i go access point to access point...so if i plug in the access point into my wireless router (kinda sounds like a dumb idea) it would let me bridge them. I think im either going to have to share the connection or get a new bridge.

After market firmware (dd-wrt) has a bridge mode that will work on your WRT. I would setup the AP as a client card (gaming adapter) to connect the xbox to the router.

Would when enabling bridging mode on the router with the dd-wrt firmware allow me to use it as an access point for wifi at the same time or would it only be one or the other but not both simultaneously?

You only need the AP to function in client mode, Bridge is not required. I have not used the dd-wrt firmware in bridge mode, so I can not say. But from what I have read it will work.

Linksys normally have all of there software available for download, have you checked their site?

If you don't have the manuals, Linksys has them available for download on their website. Just type in the model number from underneath the product.

DD-WRT has three types of bridging:

Repeater Bridge would do what you want but Client Bridge is preferable. Of course what you really ought to do is run Ethernet from your Xbox to your router.
