For my home machines, I just use windows as they do fine to connect to my home router.

But for my school machine, windows had the tendencies do pick the worst strength 2.4ghz.(Multi AP with same SSID)
So I am using intel now and it is running fine, it can preset to favor 5ghz which is nice , it is a bit slow but it is fine.
(But It can't reveal all the SSID like I had with my old thinkpad with access connection. Intel show "SSID not broadcasted" while inSSIDER pick them up fine)

Is there any other generic or manufacturer specific software better than intel?

Edit: btw intel newest driver version is out call like 15.1 . Was having BSOD on 14.x. Intel need to update their website ~~ searching for 6300 will link you to 13.5/14.1. Auto update is 14.3 zzzz
