This might be a dumb question or one that's been covered but I'll risk the flames and ask anyway. I just ordered an HP dv8000t and added the tv tuner as sorta of an afterthought. I hadn't really considered how or even if I would use it, but since it's on the way....

I have a wireless Linksys router for my cable internet and was wondering if there was a way to receive a wireless TV signal with the TV tuner? Also, will I need a separate usb wireless adapter like the one I use on my desktops for internet? Can the bluetooth capabilities help this sitiuation at all?

Too many questions? I know. Thanks for any insights.

No, you need a cable or some other source to plug into the tuner. I suppose rabbit ears would work, but that's a little limiting. There's no wireless cable adaptor that I know of, though many claim to be in the works.

Your notebook will have WiFi internal, so no need for USB adaptor.

you CAN watch tv wireless without any cables connected to your laptop, you just need something called slingbox, it basically streams your local tv programs onto your laptop obviously not the same viewing quality as you get from directly plugging in your cable. now I can watch tv on my laptop anywhere I can get wifi, even in places where I don't get wifi, I use my treo as a modem and get evdo speed.
