hey, i just got an HP dv2000z w/ a Broadcom wireless card

i have noticed some strange things:

my internet can usually get good speeds off websites on my ethernet cable like 400KB/s, however now w/ my wireless i get like 400 but it dramtically decreases. When i do network transfers i get a much more reasonable speed (about thesame as the HDD cache and stuff)

any way, does any one know why my card goes slow? (i used to have a diff laptop w/ a netgera pcmcia card based of broadcom i think that had thesame problem) why does it go so much slower than what my network can support?

interesting thing (i used the windowsdriver for the netgear in linux w/ ndis wrapper an i got the 400+KB/s but it in windows the speed would be far less)

    please help

    thanks

Update drivers and router firmware as a place to start.
