I am currently in the market for yet ANOTHER wireless router, this will be the 3rd one I'm on, the others...

1st one = Cat litter got into the tiny air holes and caused a short out.

2nd = Crappy Blitzz router that worked for a week or two, don't have the reciept anymore for warranty, plus they still havent emailed me back.

So, I'd like to preferably get a G wireless. I'd like it to support WPA, WEP is not an option. (it can have it but it's something I refuse to use) Good range and reliability.

I'm looking for a 30-60 USD price range.

Maybe check my guide (sticky and link in my sig) and that covers a lot of routers that fot your criteria. Then post back which ones interest you and i can give you a brief summary about it.

Are you asking if you can add an attenna on the router? Or just extending the anttenna to make it longer, or putting extenders to boost your signal around your house?

Well, if I can just somehow add an extra or remove and put a better antenna one with better strength or something. If there are only a certain few that support that or what?

From my understanding 30dB is the highest the FCC will allow.

This one here at www.bountifulwifi.com is hot.

1200 feet radius. However the 625.00 price tag is out of my area. it was featured in Nov's issue of Wired Macagine.

I would try to take a look at certain routers. There is no need to pay that much for a router. If you want a strong signal and long distance, i would suggest looking at Linksys's SRX routers and Netgears MIMO routers. That would be your best bet in order to stay in a certain price range.
You probaly dont need that huge of signal and that is really nothing to worry about. How big is the area you want to use?

These are what I'm looking at.

    BELKIN F5D7231-4 - fairly nice.
NETGEAR WGR614 - Kinda iffy on this because of the problems I read about this one.

I've read that the belkin has a decent range, but jam packed with features.

However a local Circuit city is selling the netgear at half off, I never really had problems with netgear products even one of their NIC's is still being used after so many years. Supposely v6 of the netgear is better, however I dont like the sound of all this idling and constant reseting.

Now the Belkin, has tons of features, but missing a few key ones such as turning off wireless. modest security.
