My wireless network has low signal in my house 2-3 bars and I'm not getting full speed, However when I get close to the connection i get more bars and full speed, so I came to the conclusion that I need a range extender. Does anyone know of a good Wireless range extender? my router is a Linksys E-3200 and its dual band. is there an range extender that's dual band?

E3200 has internal antennas co can antenna can't be used.

There are dual band wireless extenders but there's no point using one. 5GHz band is far worse in terms of range so you should concentrate on 2.4GHz one.
5GHz would be faster in terms of throughput but if we're talking about range it's a different story.

What Wi-Fi card do you have and how far from the router are you?

the wifi card I have is an Intel Network 6235AN.HMWWB Centrino WiFi Card Advanced-N 6235 Dual Band Bluetooth Retail I bought a year ago. my router is on the same floor as me but its a long house so the signal would have to penetrate through may walls. on my 2.4Ghz connection my speed is about 5-8 mbps out of 25mbps. Would you recommend I get the Linksys RE1000 Wireless-N Range Extender?

I have a single band router (Linksys E1200), and use the Linksys RE1000 range extender. I used to get 1 - 2 bars signal strength--now I get full 5 bars.

Since your router is dual band, get the Linksys RE2000 range extender.

Just buy a new one (not a refurb) from a store with a good return policy so you can try it out.

I bought a refurb that kept disconnecting from my router, then I tried a brand new one in box and that is the one that works for me.

Here you go. XAP-1030 :: Luxul Access point.

Its not cheap, but it will saturate your house with WiFi signal like no other. Can be used simultaneously as AP/Bridge/Extender.
You can attach it to your existing network with Ethernet cable or have it stand alone.

Has an app for apple products and they are coming out with android app.
