suggestions, i received a linksys wireless print server as a gift and i am looking forward to using it;however, i would like any suggestions on the setup. i currently have a linksys wireless router that works perfectly on my dell 9300 and a wired dell desktop. i have read all the directions, but like anything in life "nothing like first hand knowledge". any suggestions would be helpful.

    thanks

You know, you dont need a print server to print if you just have a Wireless Network.

You can just network the PC with the printer to your other PC/laptop and do it that way.

Print server are kind of hit miss. Some work real good provided the printer does not require 2way communications. In most case if your printer is on the list their work. The only thing you loose is some feed back, like if you are low on ink. I had a router that had a builtin print server it was also hit and miss. I moved up to a network printer. If you have multiple pc you will enjoy the freedom of printing from anywhere.

UPDATE; i installed my printserver today and i do like it. Suggestions

    1) I have a Linksys wireless router and print server, i think compatability between the same manufacturers is a plus.
    2) Both have an auto setup on the linksys web page, i recommend this highly,it negates manually puttting in ip addresses.
    3) Since it is a stand alone system, if the printer or server fails they are not interconnected thus you do not have to scrap one for the other.

    Final Thoughts: highly recommend

    Good Luck
