    Hi everyone,

I have a home wireless network that my 2 laptops share internet access from. I recently set up the networks such that both laptops can access each other's shared drives and also share printers.

However, 2 days ago, one of my laptop's HD died and I had to reinstall everything. Now, the newly installed laptop (laptop A) has no problems browsing laptop B's information.

BUT laptop B cannot access laptop A. Laptop B can see A but it keeps getting prompted for a login and password.

How can I get around this? Thank you!

p/s: Both computer use XP SP2 and the network is protected using a WEP key.

Do both computers have the same users and passwords? Do both have file and printer sharing installed?

Nope...both computers do not have the same users. Both computers' accounts do not have passwords. Both have file sharing but only one has printer sharing.

    Check your firewall settings.

I turned off both computers' firewalls. If a login is prompted, does that not mean that the connection is getting through? It just requires authentication? I'm not sure... :(

Awesome. It worked! All I did was just added an account to each computer.

    Hmmm. I have another question.

Now that I have two accounts in each computer, when i boot up, i'm asked to select an account at the welcome screen. Is there anyway I can bypass that and select the admin account by default?

    Thanks!
