I have the Linksys WPA enabled and I set the router to not broadcast the network. Over the last few days, I notice that my preferred network is disconnected. When I look at the name of the wirless connection, it shows a name = to my neighbor's first name. I disable that and "repair" my connection but then the next day, I'm back to being connected to the neighbor's network...sometimes my file sharing info is also changed. What is up? I understand how others piggyback and use your internet service but this seems a little diiferent in that they seem to be deliberately disconnecting my service. How do I stop this?

First off are you in Windows XP/Vista/7?

Second off, what's happening is that you may have connected to your neighbours internet once and it put it as the top priority to connect to, so what you must do is make your laptop forgot about your neighbours internet, and I'll guide you through the steps once you answer what OS you have.

Thank you. Windows XP. Neighbor's network was not at the top of my preferred connections. Network Connection Properties advanced tab also was never checked to connect via non-preferred. Do you think this was a fluke or is neighbor intentionally messing with me?

I also just re-set router for MAC filtering. Can I do anything more?

I think it is much more likely you have messed with yourself by hiding your SSID.

Not broadcasting is of limited worth. About the only value to disabling SSID broadcast is to make your network harder to use and to make it harder for neighbors to detect potential interference from networks using the same or close channels.

Rebroadcast and setup your security and save yourself a headache.

Really what happens is you've clicked on his network by accident, this happened to my laptop before and i was stuck installing 20 different drivers for a whole week until i realized the problem.

This seems to be your fault, as it would be near impossible for your neighbour to do this unless he could get control of your computer remotely.
