Okay, I've heard an N router reaches 4 times as far as a b router and ive heard there is no difference. How much farther does the thing reach compared to b?

And what is a good router that supports both N and g?

I have never really understood why people like linksys better, I have always experienced bad things with their routers and I find D-Link routers much easier to use.

Linksys has been going down hill ever since sisco bought them. The defacto WRT54G is now the junkiest router built right now. I have moved to netgear and dlink hardware.

As far as distance. All test shows in real life it has the same range as a Good 11g hardware. I say good because there is some hardware that has a very short range. When compaired to builtin cards some work better than others.
My 11g AP has a spec range if 330ft. I cover my whole house on low power, including going through 4 walls. Antennas have a big impact. I have not seen any 11n hardware that is not fixed at 2dbi, where my AP use 5 dbi. As the freq goes up it is less capable of penetrating walls. Speed has increased, provided it does not see 11b/g hardware.

Aha, so I should get a D-link or a netgear.

The choice is yours. I was just telling you my experience. Netgear only give you 90 day Free phone tech support, and unlimited email. Dlink has a better support program. I would stay away from 11n till 6 mo after the spec was finalized. There is always going to be some problems, look at 11g and some of the issue between different chip sets.
