    Hey,

I recently ordered a Sager NP9260 that comes with the Intel PRO Wireless 4965 a/g/n card. I wanted to get a wireless N router but I'm unsure which to go with. I know Intel and Cisco have an "alliance" and so that makes me want to consider the Linksys WRT350N or the WRT330N, but I have heard mixed reviews. Two of the people I'm living with have also recently gotten computers with the Intel 4965, and will be splitting the cost of the router with me, so price is not entirely an issue. Are these good routers or do I need to spend more for another make (like Buffalo)? I heard rumors that the different companies use different protocols for Draft-N, do I need to find a specific router for these cards?

    Thanks

I have the WRT300N and recommend it. I've never had connection issues...

I'm connecting to my router at 300 mbps.... which, apparently is as fast as it can connect. Granted, that's connection speed, not actually browsing speed.

Settings? Other than the security, I haven't changed any router settings. Try updating your driver for your network adapter.

You need to use WPA2 to be connected in N mode.

Oh really? I'm not sure how true that is, but that's what I'm using, so you could very well be right...

For sure. If you switch to let's say WEP your connection is gonna work @54Mbps.

sweet, I'll try that. So far at default setting:

    wireless
    mixed
    auto
    auto

    security :
    disabled

    and no mac address filtering

    i connect at 54mbps

    ----------------------

If i change the wireless setting from Mixed to Wireless-N only, i get 150mbps! for about 3 seconds

I will try the wpa2. tonight. Are there any settings on the laptop side that i need to be aware of?

Thank you both for the help so far.

You know I kinda start to feel you’re gonna kill me if WPA2 don’t make you connect @150Mbps ;)
