I just got a wireless N system, and I must say, I'm both impressed and annoyed.

Lets get to the annoyances first: Unless you have 15 or 30 megs fios, gigabit ethernet is by and largly useless to you, esp. if you already had wireless g.

We've gained no speed by using one pc.

Thats with one pc though. Since I have 5 now connected via gigabit ethernet, I could test multiple pcs using Mimo.

What I found is that while pc doesn't gain speed, two downloading can download at the same speed, give or take 50-100kb/s.

My speed is 6 megs. I generally download at 650kb/s. My download speed with two pcs? 1000-1200 kb/s.

The only way I suggest wireless N is if you have multiple pcs and others use them besides you. If your not planning on surfing while downloading on another, or using two pcs FOR ANY REASN, don't bother with wireless n until 30 meg fios comes in your area.

Oh, one last thing. I've noticed the usefulness of mimo extends to any wireless g device. In other words, you could have 1.5 megs dsl, and be able to use vonage and download on the internet without having any problems.

Why would even 30Mbps make sense for N?
