I have an Asu W3N, I was wondering what software/drivers are best for wireless lan? The drivers CD comes with Asus WLAN and Intel Calexico software. Which is better? Uses less memory? Or would the standard windows drivers be ok?

Also how do I setup a VPN on a laptop? Do I need special software?

    Thanks

    Zamolo,

I believe the use of the Wireless drivers is completely dependent on what card in in your system. One is for an Asus WLAN card and the other should be for an Intel WLAN card. You need to use the one for your specific card.

VPN can be setup pretty easily in XP Pro.

    1. Goto Control Panel
    2. Double click Network Connections
    3. Double click New Connection Wizard
    4. Select Connect to the Network At My Workplace
    5. Select Virtual Private Network Connection
    6. Type in Connection Name (anything you want eg. Office)
    7. Type your companies VPN IP address or Host name
    8. Done, you can now tweak the settings of this VPN connection in Network Connections
    9. Double click VPN connection icon and enter required authentication info and you should connect.
