Hi, I reformatted my computer and reinstalled my Proset 2200 BG driver, but it won't allow me to access my wireless network like I could before (the same one you can on a desktop). Instead, some other kind of menu comes up that doesn't let me enter my correct passkey. A message comes up instead that says:

    "WINDOWS CONFIGURATION

The network password needs to be 40bits or 104 bits depending on your network configuration. This can be entered as 5 or 13 ascii characters or 10 or 26 hexidecimal characters."

I don't understand what happened. Can someone make sense of this for me. This is not acceptable to me because I need my labtop to access wifi from my school and my library and my friends house as well.

Please help me. Thank you. I'd post three pictures to show you what I mean but this site doesn't allow me to do that yet.

It looks like the driver you installed also came with a wireless connection utility. You can use Vista's built in one (the first screen shot you posted).

    1. Right click on your taskbar and click on Properties
    2. Click on the Notification Area tab
    3. Check Network

The Vista network icon should now appear in your taskbar. Click it to start setting up your wireless connection.

BTW, you can take screenshots by pressing the Print Screen button on your keyboard, so no need for a camera.
