I just bought a new laptop and would like to set up a wireless network. I am debating between going with Wireless N or Wireless G router. Specifically I am looking at the LinkSys Wireless G with Speedbooster ($69) and the Netgear WNR834B RangeMax Next-Wireless N Router ($99).
I plan to use this router in my older home (lots of walls!) for net surfing and occasionally to watch live video over the web. I also would like to use it to upload files to a server for web pages I maintain.
The laptop is a Toshiba A205-S4777 compatible with both g and n
    Thanks!

The linksys is a solid router, but you can't go wrong with the netgear built in features.Range and network speed should be better with the N product.Daft N hasn't been ratified as of yet just something to think about.

I have a notebook with b/g wireless. Will there be any benefit purchasing an n router? Specifically, will a n router boost the range of a g adapter?

Also, I have heard that n networks can kill g networks. Will getting a n router for use with a g adapter protect my network from this problem if one of my neighbors decides to upgrade to n? or will it still be killed because I am using g gear?
