Anybody have opinions on which wireless G router is best? Does anyone have a website that will compare them in terms of speed, range, stability, etc. The cnet comparisons are difficult.

Also, is the 108mpbs really needed - I have about 4 computers to hook up together, not much sharing between computers mostly just internet. I can't see the real advantage but it is only $20 more.

    Thanks

I have a D-link wireless g router myself, bought it the other day, its working great and also very easy to set up! i have also used several linksys router before (at different places) and I have got very good reception from them but i have never used a net gear 1 before :( . It would be slightly faster with 108mb, for $20 extra I think thats good! :D

I had the Dlink G604T and hate it. It worked o.k for a while but then seemed to have problems saving settings. I did a factory reset but no change. I swapped for a netgear n router.

I also found problems connection to the Dlink with my MBP. It was using WEP but haven't tried it in WPA or turning encryption off since I got my new router.

Probably shouldn't answer like this cause it's not a specific router question but in general Linksys is the best and D-Link is the worst.

As for 108Mb never liked it- it's not neighbor friendly and not officially supported by Wi-Fi alliance if I'm not mistaken. Plus you would need 108Mb cards for notebooks.

I have a relatively dated D-Link wifi router (DI-524). So far so good...stable to say the least. The only problem I had with it was when I changed the WPA-PSK password wirelessly - recommended to do this wired... A hard re-set did the trick.

By the way I've had it for almost a year and half now and there are 4 machines connected to it - 1 on Vista, 1 on Mac OS X, and 2 on XP Pro SP2.
