I have a D-LINK DIR-625 Wireless Router. The firmware is up to date.

However, the connection goes up and down all the time. I don't have a problem connecting my laptop to my wireless router. But from wireless router to the Internet, it consistently breaks down and goes back up again. It would be working about 3 minutes and then the connecting breaks down again. It keeps doing this for a while now. I don't know what the issue should be.

I updated the firmware and I restarted the wireless router but it hasn't work. Any possible ideas? I thought about changing the wireless channel but once my channel is changed, I couldn't connect to the router at all. I find it weird. Right now, my channel is at 9.

Any possible solution? or should I just get a new router?

First, check if logging is on, when they fill up, they can cause problems.
Then, try a hard reset and reconfigure it
After that, check the D-link forums and see if others are having a similar problem, some models have issues where one little box will cause issues.

If that fails, change the power pack.
Most routers are under-powered, get one with 1-2 amps more, but the same voltage.

If it's dsl service there is a keep alive feature on most routers. Check to see how your is set. Some are set to disconnect if idle for a certain amount of time.

What do you mean by "logging" is on?

    What's that?

Most routers can log activity, this at times causes problems when the buffer gets full.

I found out more about my problem.

We have two wireless router at my place and both of them have the same problems. So this probably eliminates the single wireless router problem. The interesting thing is, the connection seems fine but the web page just wouldn't load. However, any downloading still working without a problem. This happens to any computer connected to both wireless router.

    Can it be the modem?

Does this occur to all the other PC / laptop on the network? Try a different browser. It sounds like a dns issue if both wireless router have the same problem. The browser might not be able to resolve the dns.

How are both routers connected? 1 daisy chained to the other?

What type of internet service DSL, cable, FIOS.

Check your MTU setting on the router, 1492 for DSL.

Some ISP do a kind of mac filtering, so I have a tentency to just clone the mac address of the PC used to setup the account into the router.

Both routers are connected to the Modem.

Internet service is Comcast Business so it's Cable. (I'm pretty sure)

ok, I will check the MTU setting.

What's the benefit of cloning mac address?

Yes this happens to every computer.
