We just bought a Aspire 5100 a few months ago and have not been able to connect to the wireless network at the house. when you try to connect it says connection unsuccessful and when I go into the network and sharing center on the computer it says limited connectivity. but the other wirless computers and devices are working fine and I can connect to other networks outside of the house

Are you MAC filtering on your access point or router?
What are you using for DHCP (Windows ICS or a router)?
How many other DHCP clients are on the network?

As far as I know the MAC Filtering is not on The router is a Linksys WRT54GS V.5
my other computer that is connected wireless is a HP desktop and the psp and ps2
I also noticed it seems to get stuck when trying to get the IP address and then saiys connection unsuccessful but only on the notbook

The tech person at linksys said i needed to update the driver but It works fine on other wireless networks

Sounds like it's failing with authentication. Try it with out any security. If successful, setup the WPA again.
