    Wireless Connection Dropping constantly

    Hello, I currently own an M1330 with Dell wireless-n-mini 1505 wireless card. For router, I'm using DLINK DIR-625 2.0 n-draft certified router.

    The problem I'm having is that the connection drops frequently even when I'm right infront of my router. Can someone please help?

    any microwave ovens in use when your connectivity problems happen? got a 2.4ghz cordless phone? both can cause issues with wireless networking.

    I would try updating your drivers for you wireless card & getting the latest firmware for your router.And see if that helps.

    Digging up an old thread here- my m1330 keeps dropping my wifi connection (whilst im sitting next to the router)..... anyone know why this is / how it can be fixed / should it be replaced?

    I've got the wireless N card for my laptop and a netgear g router.

    It's obviously not reception as i'm right net to the router.... and drivers and firmware should be most recent as only just received from dell!!

    Have you tried connecting your laptop on other wireless router? does it still drop?

    Are there any other wireless device/laptop that connects to your router? How is the connectivity?

    If you have isolated that your laptop's wifi is running perfectly, try to update your routers firmware. Try also changing the channel of your router.

    If your mixing mfg for 11n, you will have problems. Currently MFG are trying to get their's setups as STD, so everyone is currently playing to it's own drummer. Dealing with non std specs calls these problems and I only expect it to get worst. MFG are spending most of there time on 11n and if you use 11g you are put on the back burner.

    Just make sure you have the latest firmware in both router and NB. Load netstumbler (if XP) and see how may networks are in your area and what channel they are using. Then pick 1, 6, or 11 that gets you away from them. Then one of your neighbors may have a v1 spec 11n which is know to kill 11g networks due to channel bonding. Try to get them to upgrade their firmware.

    I wished I understood all that, I'm still working on it. I am using a cable connection to my desktop and a DLink WBR1310 router to enable my Toshiba Laptop Wireless connection which I prefer to use in the same room, and I experience the problem often. My Laptop is constantly and randomly searching for an IP address, and sometimes just closes the connection all together. For a temporary, quick fix, I simply right click on Open Network Connection, Right Click on Wireless Network Connections, select Properties and click OK and it immediately reconnects....but usually not for long. Just today, I moved my Laptop to the opposite end of the house, and I've only lost my connection once, as opposed to 10 times per half hour. I have no 2.4 phones or electronic devices in the room except for a scanner connected to the computer, but I know this should tell me something... I just don't know what. I show two neighbors with wireless connections but minimal or no signal at all. I just read here to check my wireless card firmware for my laptop, is that correct? It's less than a year old and has 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN connectivity. Am I on the right track?
