I have been having this issue with my T400 with the intel 5300 card for quite a while. After resuming from suspend or hibernate, wireless status icon in the task tray indicates I am connected, but I cannot access the network or the internet. About 10 seconds later, it shows I am disconnected. Another 10 seconds later, it says "connecting" and a few seconds later it connects. Really annoying when I'm in a hurry.
This happens in Windows 7 and 8, with all drivers I have tried so far. I have used the standard windows ones, lenovo ones, and the newer intel ones.
Is anyone else having this issue, or could someone try and point me in the right direction?

Check IP lease time on the router and increase it to maximum value.

Thanks for replying.
Manual lease (infinite) is set up for my laptop and most of the devices around the house for simplicity.
And I forgot to mention, router is a Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH running stock firmware. -

Thanks guys, but I went back to Windows 7 and whatever I did differently this time has it working great... time will tell I suppose.
Problem is now I'm having this issue. Slow Resume from Sleep/Hibernate
And I am also in the minority with the Crucial M4 freezing issues, I still require the LPM fix with the latest firmware. It was supposed to be fixed two releases ago, but not for mine I guess. -

Hello again, thanks for the help.
1. BIOS already up-to-date.
2. Uninstalled and reinstalled video card drivers, they were from Lenovo, now they are straight from Intel. (Didn't change anything. Still having extremely slow resume)
3. I can try doing a clean startup, but I don't see that working either as I have always had these startup programs. They are:
-RMClock
-Sidebar
-Google Talk
-Lenovo Power Manager
I run a pretty tight ship around here, which is why I don't understand where this is coming from.
4. What I meant with my above post is that I have already updated to the most recent firmware, but I am still having the issues. They were supposed to be resolved two firmware releases ago. Not an issue, I just use the old registry patch and it works fine.
Thanks again. -

Hi itmann223
My name is Sougata and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell.
I Would like to provide you information about your problem .
It looks like you have some corupted files in Windows which is causing the system to resume slowly from Sleep or hibernate
I would request you to do a clean reinstallation of windows 7 using the OEM disk provided by the manufacturer
*****Disclaimer: If need to backup your data / files/ mails before doing windows installation-- as windows installation will wipe out the entire data*******
To format your hard disk during Windows 7 installation, you'll need to start, or boot, your computer using the Windows 7 installation OEM disk provided by your manufacturer.
1.Turn on your computer so that Windows starts normally, insert the Windows 7 installation disc , and then shut down your computer.
2.Restart your computer.
3.Press any key when prompted, and then follow the instructions that appear to boot from cd and boot from the cd.
4.On the Install Windows page, enter your language and other preferences, and then click Next.
5.On the Please read the license terms page, if you accept the license terms, click I accept the license terms, and then click Next.
6.On the Which type of installation do you want? page, click Custom.
7.On the Where do you want to install Windows? page, click Drive options (advanced).
8.Click the partition that you want to install windows 7, click the formatting option .
9.When you've finished formatting, click Next and it will continue with installation and at the end it will reboot
10.Follow the instructions to finish installing Windows 7, which include naming your computer and setting up an initial user account.
You need to update drivers after Windows 7 installation is complete from your manufacturer's driver website
Kindly update the results, we would be more than glad to assist you
