I am looking at an XPS on dell outlet and it has a 1490 wireless card. Is this a good card? If not, is it a part that you can upgrade on a laptop?

gryfan87 yes you can replace, not complicated only have to know how to use a screwdriver. Here is a link to a thread from 2006. Covers pretty well what you want to know. Pretty clear you should give the DeLL a shot, I mean it clearly works. Have a read.

What's wrong with the 1490? Is a good mini card, although I would personally go with an Intel 4965.
