Hi. I am planning on purchasing a wireless device to connect my Xbox 360 to my wireless router (D-Link DGL-4300), but was stuck between a wireless adapter or wireless AP/Bridge. Now, the main problem is that I don't know what the difference between the two is! Can someone please clarify each device and the purpose/scenarios in which I can use them? Thanks!

The Wireless Adapter is what you need to connect to the Wireless Access Point (Which is the Router)

Like the PS3 has a built-in Wireless Adapter which I use to connect to my Linksys Router (WAP). So your D-Link Router is the WAP.

The Xbox has Wi-Fi right?....why would you need that? All that would do is extend your current network. That Wireless LAN device has to be connected to your D-Link Router. So if you want to extend the range of your current network set up then that device is what you need.

If you just want to connect the Xbox to your Wireless Router then i'm sure you can do that with the built-in Wi-Fi Adapter.

No, the Xbox 360 does not have Wi-Fi capabilities. That's the reason I'm looking for an alternative to the overpriced Microsoft Wireless Adapter for Xbox 360 and I managed to find one which was $47 by D-Link.

And that's considered cheap for it! It is $100 almost everywhere else. That's why I'm strongly considering the D-Link DGL-3420, but also looking at even cheaper alternatives.
