So before i start with the problem i will list things i have done to try and fix it.

Checked Laptop internal antenna (Seems fine)
Used inSSIDer to check for any interfering networks (there are none)
    Disabled Wifi power savings
    Set router to AC only
Set Intel 7260 dualband to AC only
    Using Latest driver.

Here's the issue, I'm getting massive speed fluctuations, It'll go from 866.7mbit to 29 back to 866.7mbit, All over the place, My speed test looks like a roller coaster up down up down up down, I have no idea what the problem is, inSSIDer gives me a link score of 100, When it does sit at 866.7mbit it flies along and i get full speed, Then all of a sudden it re-negociates at a lower speed.

    Laptop = Alienware M17x R3
    Router = Tp-link Archer C7 AC 1750
Wifi card = Intel Dual band AC 7260
Amount of devices on wifi = 1

Time to bring the wierdness up a notch

Speed test without World of warcraft running = all over the place
    With warcraft running = 98.4/38.6 (I have 100/40)

Check if you are using the latest Intel driver for 7260. They did and still do have some driver issues.

TP-Link had only one firmware update since its release and it was good few months ago but you might want to check it out anyway.

That said the description seems to suggest that it's a software problem on the laptop- most likely driver.

I had large fluctuations with drivers prior to 16.6.0.8 when the notebook was not in line of sight with my Netgear R6300 router.

With 16.6.0.8 it's mostly now at 520Mbps and 5 green bars when viewing Windows 8.1 WiFi Status. When in line of sight it's at 866.7Mbps.

In the WiFi Status I have Intel connection Settings enabled>5ghz only/Access Point Mac Address entered/Cisco Option Enabled.

My 5ghz SSID is selected and connected.

I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro and my power option is set to high performance.

Router is set to WPA2 AES

I don't actually have that control utility you have in your images, Mine driver proset tools didn't come with it, only the diagnostics,

If i leave the room the routers in, Signal gets choppier to boot, But if i have world of warcraft logged in while im browsing, Signal strength doesn't drop or change, STays steady at 866.7

Download the driver and extract to a new folder.
    Station-Drivers - Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software Version 16.6.0.8

Open the Data Folder>click on WiFi.msi

Here you can choose to install diagnostic and admin tools.

If you install the Admin Tools you should have new Windows 8/8.1 Metro Tiles

For only the driver use driver.msi

Done, Minor change but still quite disgruntling, Atleast it's not going down to 29 at the moment, But it sits at 650 to 702, I think it should stay at 866.7 given i am within direct line of sight and maybe 6 feet from the router.

    Hi Rayleyne.

Have you had any more issues with this router and card?

What Transfer speeds do you get on LAN?

I have the same setup as you do (Archer C7 + Intel 7260)

I've had the opportunity since I received my AC-7260 from Gentech last June to test several different AC 1200/1750/1900 routers and Intel driver versions on Windows 7 x64 HP and Windows 8.1.1 build

This weekend I had a borrowed Netgear Nighthawk R7000 with newest firmware up and running for 3 days.

Now as in the past it's all about Intel drivers.

I spent one whole day on 2.4ghz experimenting and the results were not good with connection speeds as low as 67 Mbps

On the 5ghz band 15' not line of sight with 16.6.0.8 using Windows 8.1.1(Latest Leaked build) )the card shines brightly at 520 Mbps~702 Mbps but not as bright as 8' and line of sight where it doesn't budge off 866.7

R7000 + Tera copy + Windows 8.1 ISO from i7 2670qm/16GB notebook to wired to router desktop PC maxed at 45.3 MB/s on 5ghz(8' Line Of Sight)
