    Hi guys.

So a while ago my HP and my T61 were able to see each other on the network and share all the files. Then after I did a clean install on my HP I can only access my thinkpad but I can't access the drive that being shared. However I can access all the files on my HP from my Thinkpad just fine.

I tried all the possible settings that I know of and still the problem doesn't disappear.

If someone know the solution to this problem I really appreciate it.

Both computers running Windows 7 Enterprise.

    Thanks

I had problems sharing files on my desktop/laptop just the other day. It didnt work like normal. I ended up setting up a homegroup and sharing the folders with the homegroup and it worked fine that way. Later on maybe due to reboot or something I was able to get advanced sharing to work with folders that homegroup cant share.

Im still not so sure what is supposed to be so special about homegroup sharing or how its better than the old method but it works.

I thought Homegroup was the solution. But after 3 hours trying with homegroup I was going nowhere.

The thing is, my Thinkpad was able to access everything I share on my HP with or without homegroup. I deleted the homegroup and my thinkpad can still access just fine.

On the other hand, I can't access my thinkpad with my HP. This happened right after I did the clean install.

I'm suspecting that it could be one of the Microsoft updates that causing this issue.
