Pretty much what it says in the title. The wifi shows connected, but there's a yellow triangle on the taskbar icon. I've installed the drivers for my card, which is Intel Centrino Advanced N-6230. However, the latest drivers given on Intel's site for this device is the Windows 8.1 version which is what I installed.

I've been searching online for a solution for hours but couldn't find anything other than "uninstall antivirus". I don't have any antivirus, as I just did a clean install! I tried disabling Windows Defender and Firewall, but didn't help.

How can I solve this? Thanks.

Sounds like the wifi router can't connect you... Had something similar with my partners new laptop a few months ago and the solution was I used a desktop to login to the router to add the laptop to its access list.

    Thanks for your reply.
I tried that by logging into the router's admin page. I see that the laptop in question is connected and has a valid IP.
ipconfig /all also gives a valid output for the wireless card.

Try repairing the Internet connection using Windows. It will most likely recreate a virtual Microsoft Wi-Fi adapter the lack of which is often a problem.

After hours of snooping around on the internet, it took me a trip to the local tech shop to buy a LAN cable, to solve the problem.
I connected the laptop to the router through ethernet, and then did a Windows update. That solved the issue.

    Thanks guys for the replies.
