I decided to install Win 7 on all 4 laptops including the 5 year old laptop which seemed to run very slowly... so I reinstalled XP back and the problem now is that the wireless would not connect to MY router..

There is only one unsecured connection available and that seems to work fine as well as using my 3G..

It says the following message whenever I try to connect to my wireless:

Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may be no longer be in range. Please refresh the list of available networks and try to connect again

Of course, all my 3 other Win 7 laptop connects just fine. I'm not sure what is the problem.. Could anyone help me?

    THANKS!!!

Well, is your router using encryption? And is xp at the latest service pack?

Could service pack be the problem? It seems to connect fine to a random unsecured network. It just doesn't connect to my secured network.

It's SP2 by default but since I'm not able to download anything w/o an internet connection, I can't upgrade to SP3.

Could I download the SP3 available for IT Pro via http://download.microsoft.com and install it on XP Home Premium?

I'll try upgrading it to SP3 later tonight when my family member returns with her laptop.

Any other solutions in the meantime?

    Thanks in advance!!!!!!

Yeah, there is an exe you can download from MS. It sounds like your using an encryption type not supported in sp2.
